Monument to Agnieszka Osiecka

Monument to Agnieszka Osiecka – a monument at the intersection of Francuska Street with Obrońców Street in the Saska Kępa estate in Praga South, Warsaw.
The monument to Agnieszka Osiecka was unveiled on 19 May 2007 during Saska Kępa Festival. The statue by Dariusz and Teresa Kowalski was cast in Starachowice.
The monument shows the poet sitting at a table, with her legs crossed and hair tied in a ponytail, wearing a skirt and high heels and staring into distance. On the table in front of her are sheets of paper with lyrics written on them. The statue is situated at a café and every guest can sit at it.
In the poet's lifetime, the café was a chemist's. But the artist did frequent some cafés nearby like "Sax" at 31 Francuska Street and "Café Sułtan" at 12a Obrońców Street.
Agnieszka Osiecka authored some 2,000 songs which were published in a number of volumes, including:

- Śpiewające piaski (1989)
- Opisanie szopki (1991)
She also wrote short stories, fiction books, memoirs, books for your readers and theatre plays.
